“Of course as a leader in the Latino community I am very aware of the challenges we face. And I am equally committed to the well-being of all who live in Mt. Vernon. Part of advocating for all is ensuring that police and fire departments and emergency medical services are adequately supported. I am committed to assuring that people feel safe in their homes and communities.  I am an advocate of open dialogue with law enforcement to creating a positive culture.   I support a new Fire Station 1 for a fire engine downtown.”
